Jacob King is an evangelist and President of Dropout. He has spent years working directly for Archbishop Emeritus Charles J. Chaput, who commissioned him to “dream up” new methods and expressions to reach young adults — especially the lost — not just in Philadelphia but across the U. S. Through that time of dreaming and strategizing, Dropout was born: a pre-evangelization ministry highly focused on giving young adult nones "ears to hear (Matthew 11:15)."
Jacob is passionate about ministering to young adults who are not yet ready for proper evangelization (which is the majority of nones) but are nonetheless still curious about God. Jacob was evangelized in a very powerful way when he was physically and spiritually far from a Catholic pew. Jacob was a spiritual none: in high school, after a drug addiction wrecked his father’s life, he dropped out of school and left religion altogether. But after an incredible and improbable experience with God through media, he returned and has been zealous about creating digital content and innovating new methods to reach young adult nones; and he has equipped himself with the best media training and tools needed to most effectively accompany other young adults who are in the same shoes he was.
